Adjusting Audio Recording levels within Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10

Microsoft instituted significant changes within the Sound (Audio/Recording) Device applet for Windows 7, 8.0, 8.1 and 10.

To adjust the recording levels within Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10...

1. Within CompuHost, select "File->System Devices and Options" from the Top Main Menu.
2. Click the "Recording Device Setup" button.
3. Select the applicable Recording Device from the drop-down selections.
4. Select the applicable Recording Input if individual inputs are made available by the installed device driver, otherwise select "Master Volume".

5. Open the Windows Control Panel (Start->Control Panel)
6. Select "Hardware and Sound->Sound->Manage audio devices"
7. Select the "Recording" Tab at the top of the dialog.
8. Select the applicable recording device and click the "Properties" button.
9. Select the "Levels" tab.
10. Adjust the levels as required.

NOTE: Depending on the installed audio device, additional settings may be available to further enhance recording quality. Please refer to the documentation and help resources provided by the device manufacture for further instructions.
